Rise - College Tour

The Rise Program is a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) and state and private college and university experience program. It was originally created to offer diverse cultural experiences centered in black excellence, not presented prominently or historically in Oregon’s environment.

Rise is for high school juniors and seniors who identify as multi-ethnic, Black/African American, from the African Diaspora, Indigenous or a person of color. Rise offers an experience that ethnic students cannot experience in Oregon because they get to see college students, career people and neighbors exuding black success and excellence in their communities.

Students have the option to visit HBCU’s and other colleges and universities in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Washington D.C., Virginia and in the Carolinas. In addition to visiting the schools, students will engage in the Civil Rights Road in each state including visits to museums, churches, historical sites and other activities pertaining to civil rights history in the region. Students will also submerse themselves in the culture of the city by participating in different activities.

Our hope is to provide this HBCU Rise tour experience and direct liaisons on HBCU campuses will help to raise graduation rates and increase the number of students who go directly to 4-year Universities throughout Oregon and Nationwide. Contact Us for more information and to Sign Up.
